Bangkok, Thailand - Mr. Prachaya Keeritinant, President of the Thai Weightlifting Association, extends gratitude to the Royal Thai Navy for providing weightlifting athletes with the opportunity to utilize hyperbaric oxygen therapy, expediting their recovery from injuries.
Mr. Prachaya Keeritinant revealed that the Royal Thai Navy, under Vice Admiral Adung Paneiam, the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy, has assigned Rear Admiral Natt Isarangkoon Na Ayudhya, the Director of the Naval Medical Department, to oversee the special case of Thai national weightlifting athletes using hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy at 100% purity for physical recovery. In this recent initiative, General Wisut Dechsakul, Secretary-General of the Weightlifting Association, and Lieutenant Colonel Wutchai Isara, the Association's advisor, led a team of athletes for treatment at the Somdej Phra Pin Klao Hospital, Royal Thai Navy Medical Service and Aviation Department, located on Somdej Phra Chao Taksin Road, Bukkhalo Subdistrict, Thon Buri District, Bangkok, on Wednesday, November 15, 2026.
"On behalf of the Thai Weightlifting Association, we sincerely thank the Royal Thai Navy for their consistent support. The use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy is another way to expedite the recovery of athletes injured during training or competitions. It complements traditional treatments with medication or physical therapy," stated Mr. Prachaya Keeritinant.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, also known as hyperbaric chamber treatment, involves breathing 100% pure oxygen under high-pressure conditions. This method aids in quicker recovery by delivering a higher quantity of oxygen to the bloodstream compared to normal atmospheric pressure. Mr. Prachaya Keeritinant emphasized that this approach is an additional means to help athletes recover swiftly and resume normal life beyond standard medical or physical rehabilitation.
